Honda Extends Airbag recall to 440,000 Cars
Japanese carmaker Honda says it is expanding an earlier recall of Accord, Civic and Acura TL vehicles over a faulty airbag inflator that could send shrapnel through an inflated airbag and Honda has announced it is recalling 440,000 vehicles in the US.

Honda said, one fatality and a number of injuries have been linked to the defect. Last November, the carmaker had already recalled some models.
The recall includes some of the company’s best-selling Accord and Civic models and Honda had recalled about 300,000 later model Accords was incorrectly linked to this issue, Accords affected are from 2001 and 2002.
The Japanese carmaker Honda said it would contact customers and arrange for the airbag to be replaced free of charge and visit the Owner Link section of honda.com.

Yesterday Honda expands their interim decision of the total among by 440,000 cars, while they don’t really know how many cars may be certificated this number might not be firm in my opinion.
