It is the latest available government program which aims to put up to $5,000 in your pocket when you trade your old car for a more fuel efficient brand new car.

The government already unveiled $1 billion cash for clunkers last Monday. The Clash for Clunkers Program will help the consumers to trade in their car into a brand and more fuel efficient car. This program will be used to provide a boost to automotive sales and to get more fuel-efficient vehicles on the national roads. Rebate will be obtain after the application of manufacturers discounts and incentives.

Under this program, the federal government is offering a vouchers and the funds will be used to give people the Car Allowance Rebate System offers for a rebate of $3,500 or $4,500 to anyone replacing their gas guzzlers car or even a truck that averages less than 18 miles per gallon in combined city and highways driving and is less than 25 years old into a certain brand new vehicles that are more fuel efficient.

Reimbursement will be wired directly to the dealers, who must show proof that the clunkers have been taken off the road permanently by being “crushed or shredded”, according to the legislation.

Now unless the 2009 cash for clunkers is renewed, the program might end up to November 1 or when the funds allotted by the Congress run out or whichever comes first.

Cash for clunkers program 2009 Chrysler: We’ve been over this one before…because it’s pretty fantastic. Chrysler announced it will double the cash for clunkers incentive. It will offer $4,500 cash rebates or zero percent financing for six years on most of its 2009 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep models. This only lasts through August 31st. We’re talking $9,000…in your pocket. Oh, and if you don’t qualify for the government program, you still qualify for the Chrysler rebate.

Cash for clunkers program 2009 Ford: Let Ford Recycle Your Ride. That’s the name of their big promotion. And, they have dealer incentives to make the pot a little sweeter. Go online and click on one of Ford’s 20 eligible cars to see additional incentives and rebates available in your area. The current promotion I found for Cincinnati is 0% APR financing, plus $1,500 cash back. Remember, that’s on top of the government rebate.

Cash for clunkers program 2009 GM: (Chevy, Buick, Saturn, Cadillac, Pontiac, GMC, & Hummer): So many brand names….so little time. Special incentives for GM cars range from 0% APR to a few thousand dollars in rebates when you combine customer cash and bonus cash incentives. Each make and model has different incentives right now. All you need to do, is go to GM’s website to do some shopping for your next ride.

Cash for clunkers program 2009 Hyundai: Hyundai made a bold move when they started honoring cash for clunkers nearly a month before the government fully rolled out the program. Hyundai backed dealerships with short-term cash advances so they could offer those rebates early and get a jump on sales. It worked – sales were up 11% in July according to Edmunds.com. Even better – Hyundai has additional rebates for buyers that range from $3,000 for a 2009 Sonata to $1,000 for the Veracruz.

Cash for clunkers program 2009 BMW: This seems like an odd incentive to use to get a luxury car – after all the government requires the sticker price of the new car you purchase be under $45,000. But, BMW is pushing the 2009 335d (yes, it qualifies) and has created a pretty sweet incentive. They’re doubling the government offer – and calling it a $4,500 “Eco Credit.” Additionally the 3335d qualifies for a $900 alternative fuels tax credit and the sales tax is deductible. So…we’re talking saving $10,000 plus off the sticker price. Hey, if you have the money, why not.

Cash for clunkers program 2009 Toyota: Toyota’s making a unique move and pushing lease incentives. The government CARS program does allow you to lease a vehicle, but the lease term must be at least 5 years. That’s not always easy to find – but Toyota is making it easier. Five Toyota models; Yaris, Carolla, Camry, Rav 4 SUV, and the Tacoma pickup are all available with 60-month leases. Oh, Toyota is also big on promoting the fact that most of their vehicles and even several Lexus models qualify for purchase under this program.

Cash for clunkers program 2009 Honda: As far as I can tell – Honda isn’t rolling out the red carpet. Current lease deals are for 36 months, and won’t qualify for the cash for clunkers rebate. I couldn’t uncover any special deals. Here’s Honda’s claim to fame: almost every model available qualifies for purchase based on fuel efficiency standards.
