Teen Girl Falls into Sewer while Texting Phone
A teen girl near about 15 year old was walking in a street of Staten Island NY on that moment she was composing text in her phone and suddenly she stepped into an open manhole and fell into the sewer below.
Alexa Longueira was walking along Victory Boulevard, texting on her phone but did not look where the teen girl was going. City workers were flushing out the sewer system in the area and stepped away for a few seconds to get cones to mark the danger when the girl fell in.
The teen girl suffered a fright and some scrapes on her arms back after she dropped into the hole on Victory Boulevard.
“It was four or five feet, it was very painful. I kind of crawled out and the DEP guys came running and helped me,” Longueria told the Staten Island Advance.
The Department of Environmental Protection said its workers had turned away briefly to grab some cones when the incident occurred.
