The above statement is misleading. In the tiebreaker era:

* This match was Wimbledon's longest men's final *only* in terms of *games played* (77).

* The longest Wimbledon's men's final in terms of *time* was the 2008 final (Nadal-Federer), which took 4 hours and 48 minutes.
