Steve LaTreal McNair—the fourth of five sons—was born to Lucille and Selma McNair on February 14, 1973. The McNairs’ marriage ended when Steve was eight, leaving his mom to watch over five rambunctious boys by herself. One of 11 children herself, Lucille knew something about single-parenting.

Steve was a lot like his mother—determined and patient. And while all of the McNairs were athletic, Steve was something special. Among other things, he could scramble into a tree’s high branches in seconds.
steve-mcnairs-wife-mechelle-mcnair-and-family-photos-a-tribute-videoThis ability earned him the nickname “Monk” from Lucille, who said he looked like a monkey going up a tree. Steve was tough, too. Lucille recalls the time when Steve burned his hand after setting a pile of leaves on fire. She bandaged the wound, and soon he was back to his old self.

Don't you people realize that someone son and daughter is gone how can you be so careless with your words, when you lose a daughter or son it doesn't take a genius to to know that her family and his family is hurting right now show some damn respect…
We are to quick to put harsh words about someone, I pray that god bless the family of those individuals and they find spiritual peace..

Mechelle McNair looks beautiful in her wedding picture. This is a very sad story all around.

  • Ms.Robinson

What a price to pay for cheating. I know she wanna bring them back to kill them herself! Dam what do you do grieve or be mad. I hate this for both familys. They hurt people when they were alive, with their lies, now in death.

  • kee

yah stupid, and the wife made her buy a gun the day before

  • Just me

Mechelle McNair is so beautiful inside and out. I hope the nasty azz husband did give her a disease. He shouldn't have preyed on a 20YO orphan kid. She had seen enough pain. But I'm glad the unstable mistress did not harm Mechelle or the children. God bless you, MM and your sons.

My heart truly goes out to his wife. When I was in college, my boyfriend was killed in a car accident. What hurt and shock I felt when at his funeral another woman was falling all over his casket. After over 25 plus years, I still remember that pain. I might add that regardless of how this situation took place, there are still two lives gone. I will kept his wife and children in prayer.

Steve McNair death should not have happened this way at all. He took a vow before God to be faithful to his wife no matter what. He should have kept his vow and he would still have been on this earth. This is the truth because marriage is not for those who still want to be married and act as a bachelor. The girlfriend Sahel saw McNair as a meal ticket and felt threaten in losing him so she killed him. This should be a lesson to all married men to be faithful to your wives and make your marriages work.

I can't help but remembering Proverb 5. God warns the men about the immoral woman. It says. My son, pay attention to my wisdom; Lend your ear to my understanding, That you may preserve discretion, And your lips may keep knowledge. FOR THE LIPS OF AN IMMORAL WOMAN DRIP HONEY, AND HER MOUTH IS SMOOTHER THAN OIL: but in the end she is bitter as wormwood. Her feet go down to death, Her steps lay hold of hell. I think about warning the men all the time. Mothers warn your sons, wives keep reminding them. All men can fall into that same trap of fantasy where their minds become void a logic reason, reality and lack of common sence. Steve fell for the adrenaline rush of something new and exciting. Deep down, I bet he was a great guy and a very good heart! Where is he now? I hope he is with God despite his short comings! Sometimes that is all we can to do is learn from others mistakes…. but do we?

  • sirknight

Sahel Kazemi is a shelfish bitch to do what she did.

  • sirknight

Sahel Kazemi was wrong. I don't dismiss what Steve was doing either but she was very shelfish for what she did. Steve hurt more than just his family he hurt everyone that knew of him. but remember we are all sinners and we will all face judgement from the Lord. We should just try to all learn from this tragety and try to better ourselves while we still have time. We all need Jesus

  • CSAM

sirknight — In addition to acknowledging Ms. Kazemi and Steve's individual role that hurt others outside of themselves, you echo my same sentiments regarding us all as sinners. I had just made the following comment: For an insightful acknowledgment, let all who have empathy and care take note [particularly believers] — All have sinned and fallen short to the glory of our Father-Creator. However, that does not dismiss our continuing to practice sin (disobedience). That is why Jesus [directed to believers] came — to show us how to live in a sinful environment (staying connected to the Father) and then dying in our place, a sinless sacrifice, paying our debt [the Creator's law could not be changed, its immutable] and ransoming us from the Enemy (Satan – the father of sin/disobedience). We who believe have a responsibility to that “Selfless Act” if we are to see our Father-Creator in person and live in eternity once this 'universal Controversy between good and evil' has played out and ended. We have no excuse to continue in sin, we have the privilege of choice. The Ten Commandments sums up the major principles of life and living — 1. Love the Creator with all your heart and soul [the first 4] 2. Love your neighbor as yourself [the next 6]. If we (those who profess to believe) only follow them the world could be a better place as we await our LORD and Savior's return for us as He finalize the destruction of the Enemy and his deadly deeds freeing us from his temptations and assaults forever.

From the beginning of time — men at some point have had the opportunity to enjoy many women including King David in the Bible and it was acceptable! There are different standards set for women concerning sex — from the beginning even to this day. I have always wondered if there was something more “potent” inheritely put in men that cause them to desire more woman. It is usally never about hurting their wives, or not loving them. These men just have the unquenchable desire in their loins for something diffferent. Here again, I am not saying it is acceptable or diminishing the regard on family values or God's law… I am trying to understand the tragedy of this man's life. I woke up this morning very sad thinking about it! Choosing the wrong women have always been a mans down fall. From Samson and Delilah to Steve & Sahel. For people who have not read the Bible, it can be pornographic when God warns you about whores. Ezekiel 23. read verse 20… HOLY MOLY! For she lusted for her paramours, whose flesh is like the flesh of donkeys, and whose issue is like the issue of horses. In laymans terms… She goes after big cocks with alot of semen. Sorry, but there is everything in the bible God warns us about as a parent because He loves us. You need to ask for wisdom in detecting these kind of woman and truthfully — it should be very obvious anyway. Just look at her my space page or face book. She even dresses like a slut! Michael Jordan made a comment about women. He said something like, “It is the most expensive piece of 3 inch property that he ever owned. Clearly, if you don't find the right woman — it can cost you your finances and even your life! BEWARE MEN!

  • Miss Bentley

You're so stupid to even say something like that. “she don't look like the type to shoot herself.” Thats something a dumb 5th grader would say. First of all you can't judge a book by its cover. Yea she did it. Come on now. This chick was from Iran. And you know that sucide is there thing. So think twice before you put that on his innocent wife again. Gun powder on her hands. that the proof dummy!!!

  • shirleybmcbride

Iam trying to find words to express my thoughts after reading all of the above. I find we can be very cruel and judgemental which is truly not a place that any of us should be. I see so much focus on what Steve McNair was doing. You know none of us were in that condo that day. None of us knows why he was there.
Now, Iam an Alcornite and I knew Steve Mc Nair and I knew of Michelle but never had the privelege of meeting her , but I can say this when Michelle and Steve got married it was an exciting and beautiful moment to have a young black man to encircle and marry the woman that he love which was a black woman regardless to the fact that he had managed to start a career that would give him great finances. I wonder have any of you thought about the things that you are saying that is degrading to Steve McNair character as a very good and caring person who gave back to the youths so much every summer and Iam sure other times and have you ever wondered how much you are hurting Michelle by speaking in the manner about her husband. I think each of you fail to realize Michelle loves her husband and the
comments that are being made is very hard and adds more to the pain that she already carries in her precious heart. So it would be nice to encourage Michelle, her children, and the rest of Steve McNair's family with your love , prayers and support. It is not necessary to talk about the details in which his life was limited , because Michelle knows this. We loved Steve when it was great on the football field so lets continue to love him because he has paid the utlimate price for a mistake and believe me we all make them. I am not proud of he situation but it is not our place to act like we are all angels. Steve is not the only man white or black to make a wrong choice or decision most just have not paided with their lives yet. So I do say wake up to our Black Gentlemens please start communicating more with who you have at home with you. Please start thinking and appreciate the strength of your black woman. So while you speak ill of Steve McNair bend your knees and ask God to guide and protect Steve McNair family and ask God to guide your heart from such cruelty you never know when the shoe will be on the other foot. Let Steve McNair Rest in Peace and allow Michelle time to handle her pain, her turmoil, let her be able to continue loving him and be able to forgive him so she will heal and move forward with life. PLEASE SHOW SOME RESPECT. I believe Michelle would appreciate what you say that is positive more so than the negative. MICHELLE MAY GOD GIVE YOU THE STRENGTH TO ONLY REFLECT UPON THE GOOD AND THE LOVE YOU FOUND IN YOUR HUSBAND. SOMETIME WE WILL ALL FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD BECAUSE WE ARE NOT PERFECT. I SAY THIS BECAUSE WISDOM IS A POWERFUL BLESSING AND LOVE IS A MIGHT SWORD. Much love, Shirley B. McBride

I just hope that this is a wake up call for all the men out there.
Just because it looks good dont mean it is good. If I'm not mistaken, Satan was Gods most beautiful angel…….

  • Charlette

No one is 100% perfect. WE all have done things in our lives that are hidden. People who is weathly tend to get hurt a little more by the media rather than a lower class person. Steve was still a good person at heart. I have kept all newspaper clippins that I could get for my scrap book. Steve is still a hero in my book.

Im from Iran and suicide is not our “THING” ya Ignorant bitch. And even if suicide is our THING raping little kids is YOUR THING, I would take suicide over that. DUMMY!!!

  • Lorraine

Ms. MCBride, I’m certainly glad you made this comment. Often times people remember the bad instead of the good. It is certainly as tragic lost. No one knows what tomorrow will bring for them, and certainly in this case, it was a shock. We must remember and try to reflect on things that happened in our own lives, mistakes that we made, and we know that “if but for the grace of God, there go I.” We were sparred by the grace of God in many situations. So, if we but remember our own journey, and know that our children will come behind us, we have to pray for their journey as well. We do not know what they will choose. We can only hope and pray that “we” or those coming behind us do not lose focus, or get off track. None of us know what they consequences will be. With this said, I PRAY for the family, the children, the parents, and everyone who has suffered because of this tragedy.

She committed suicide because she is from IRAN ! what ignorant fool you are … Had to laugh on that one your comment was more stupid than the last… Go Bak to School. LMAO….
