Type of Account Makes a Difference
When logging into banking accounts, many people do not realize there are different options available. Wells Fargo provides options for signing into personal checking or savings, business and commercial accounts, credit cards or auto loans. Prior to accessing the Wells Fargo bank sign on page, ensure you know which type of account you need. Some definitions are provided below.
- Personal: checking, savings and other accounts under your name.
- Small business: checking, savings and other accounts under the name of a business, sole proprietor, partnership or corporation.
- Commercial: online banking resources for managing business accounts.
How to Login to Your Personal Online Banking Account
- Go to the Wells Fargo online sign on page.
Locate the sign-in box in the center of the page.
Use the "Go to" drop down menu to choose which personal banking activity you would like to access.
Enter your username and password. Remember that these are case sensitive. Make sure your caps lock key is not pressed.
Click "Go" to access your account.
Help with Password or Usernames
If you have forgotten your password or username, click the username/password help link directly under the login box. Follow the options for resetting passwords, recovering usernames or both. There are also options for obtaining new username and passwords if you signed up at a Wells Fargo location or via phone and have not yet accessed your account online. If you still cannot access your account, you can call the online banking service center at 800-956-4442 for assistance.
Logging into Business or Other Accounts
If you are on the Wells Fargo sign on page for personal banking, but you need to access business or other accounts, look in the top right corner of the page. You should see tabs for "Personal," "Small Business" or "Commercial." Click the tab for the service you are looking for. Your browser will redirect to the page for that log on. The log on for small business accounts is located to the left side of the page and works the same as the personal banking sign on. Commercial banking portal sign-in is also located to the left of the page but is different from the basic sign on options. Commercial banking customers with questions about using their account should contact their business-banking representative.
Setting Up New Online Banking Accounts
An online account is not automatically created for you. Although Wells Fargo often offers free online access, you will have to set up the online account. You should also check with your banking professionals to ensure there are no extra fees associated with your online account.
