Police escorted the person who appeared on stage to announce the news after opening act Jason DeRulo and Semi Precious Weapons performed, Purdue students inside Elliott Hall of Music said.

The reason given for Lady Gaga’s cancellation was “sudden illness” as reported by Purdue Convocations director Todd Wetzel earlier in the evening, when he addressed a restless crowd of eager concert attendees. Those who purchased tickets were informed there would be no refunds given for the tickets, but they could use them towards the January 26th rescheduled concert, according to usspost.

An interesting report claims that two EMT’s were backstage at the Elliot Hall of Music. It’s been rumored that Gaga may have passed out prior to the concert tonight. Other speculative reports came from commentors on the news story who claimed Indiana State Police cruisers were seen leaving Elliot Hall at around 9:10 this evening and that Gaga was hospitalized.

Lady Gaga’s tour manager Alicia Black also spoke via cell phone and reported Gaga was doing well and “normal”.

However when Black was asked about the Lady Gaga Purdue concert cancellation, the cell phone call connection was mysteriously lost.

Lady Gaga was slated to appear on the Oprah Winfrey show Friday afternoon.
