“Someone to Watch Over Me” is a song composed by George Gershwin with lyrics by Ira Gershwin from the musical Oh, Kay! (1926), where it was introduced by Gertrude Lawrence. It has been performed by numerous artists since its debut and is a jazz standard as well as a key work in the Great American Songbook.

Singing “Someone to Watch Over Me,” the perfect song for her voice. Jamie Foxx says she’s “leaps and bounds” beyond her years, says she’s going to “shock the world” if she sings this song the way she can.

Oh man, we may have a moment here… such a perfect, sultry, deliberate beginning. Really showing off her huge voice; audience is totally quiet listening. Great tone, walks around that stage like she owns it. This is her best performance of the finals; so much power and control, with emotion and a heck of a closing. Big cheers.

Paula loves her too, says she’s been waiting so long for a ballad.

Simon asks if she thinks she can win, Allison says “I think I can.” He says great performance, but not sure if you have that belief yet, maybe you’ve just been been overshadowed by some of the other personalities. Simon says he has a horrible feeling she could be in trouble tonight.

Nah, I think that’s like reverse psychology. Simon tells Ryan he thought it was a bit mechanical, a 7 out of 10. Kara tells him he’s crazy.
