Fort Hood Shooting Update

The U.S. Army briefs 13 people have been killed and 30 wounded in a shooting on the Fort Hood Army base in Texas. In a news conference Lt. Gen Bob Cone said that one shooter has been killed. In a sudden reversal of early reports, Fort Hood mass killer Muslim Malik Nadal Hasan is alive, in stable condition and in custody. Two suspects were detained on Thursday but subsequently released.
The shooting began around 1:30 p.m. All the casualties took place at the Soldier Readiness Center where soldiers who are about to be deployed or who are returning undergo medical screening.
He says the primary shooter used two handguns in the attack.
