Michigan Unemployment website is www.michigan.gov/uia. Michigan Unemployment (www.michigan.gov/uia) claims, this application allows you to file for unemployment benefits online. The application will ask a series of questions. Based on your responses, the system may ask you additional questions in order to complete your claim. The process could take up to 45 minutes depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the amount and accuracy of information we may currently have about you in our system.

Type of Michigan unemployment (www.michigan.gov/uia) claims:

File an ADDITIONAL Claim IF:

* You have a Benefit Year in effect with a payment balance,
* You want your claim to begin with this week.

File a NEW Claim IF:

* You worked in the past 18 months,
* You worked only in the State of Michigan during the past 18 months,
* You did not work under more than one Social Security Number in the past 18 months,
* You have not filed a claim for unemployment benefits against another state in the past 12 months.
