H1N1 Swine Flu Vaccine Availability and Side Effects

h1n1-swine-fluSwine Flu also known as Swine influenza, hog flu or pig flu. The vaccine of H1N1 swine flu is available now. But there is a question is moving around the world that “H1N1 Vaccine Risks – Is it safe?”.

Swine influenza virus (SIV) is any strain of the influenza family of viruses that is endemic in pigs.As of 2009, the known SIV strains include influenza C and the subtypes of influenza A known as H1N1, H1N2, H3N1, H3N2, and H2N3.

According to a Online Source, The first doses of the H1N1 has started being dispersed and many are wondering about the risks associated with the H1N1 vaccine. Many are worried that since they rushed the vaccine to market in order to combat the H1N1 pandemic there is the chance that they cut some corners with production and testing. This is true, but really no more than any flu vaccine. There are always a chance of side effects and risks with any vaccine and the H1N1 vaccine is no different.

Of course it does not help with this problem of people worrying about the H1N1 vaccine risks since many health professionals have come out saying they will not take the H1N1 vaccine. This has really made news in New York as health workers in New York have been ordered to receive the H1N1 vaccine or lose their job. This has added to the fire as many health officials do not think the H1N1 virus is critical enough to warrant the H1N1 vaccine risks.

Up to this point the H1N1 virus has not really been as strong as was projected last spring. Most people who get the H1N1 virus really only have mild symptoms. There have been some deaths because of the virus, but it has not been widespread. The normal flu kills many people every year, but most of them do not make news. This is different with the H1N1 virus deaths as every time someone loses their life from this virus it makes news. This news has lead to widespread fear in a lot of people who have concerns of how safe the H1N1 vaccine is in its current form.

Couple this fear with the fears about the H1N1 vaccine risks and we have a nightmare situation. Many people just don’t know what to do. Are the risks and side effects of the H1N1 vaccine worth the risk and side effects of actually contracting the H1N1 virus. There are some risks with taking any vaccine, but this one is likely safe. Of course I won’t bee taking it as I don’t really see a need. My brother has already had swine flu and he said it was nothing. He was over it in a couple of days by only taking Tamiflu. He remarked that it was not really any worse than a really bad cold.
