Taylor Swift won her first-ever MTV Video Music Award 2009 and she had her triumph literally snatched from her hands by Kanye West. Kanye West rushes the stage while Taylor Swift was thanking people for her award for “Best Female Video”.

Taylor began telling MTV VMA viewers how much winning best female video meant to her, Kanye West ripped the microphone from her grasp and gave an outraged shout-out to one losing nominee.

“Taylor, I’m really happy for you. I’ll let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!”

The 19-year-old country singer had a ‘Cinderella’ entrance when she arrived riding an ornate horse and carriage.

“I have a castle complex,” Taylor said to MTV. “I really like fairy tales.”

At the show, Taylor is expected to sing “You Belong With Me” which is nominated for Best Female Video.

Taylor was up against Beyonce for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)”; Katy Perry, “Hot N Cold”; Kelly Clarkson, “My Life Would Suck Without You”; Lady Gaga, “Poker Face”; P!nk, “So What”; Taylor Swift, “You Belong With Me.”
