Michael Jackson’s Homicide Investigation is Dr. Conrad Murray
Now that the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office has ruled King of Pop Michael Jackson’s death a homicide, the spotlight on the singer’s physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, will burn even brighter. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the only person the LAPD is focusing on in Michael Jackson’s homicide investigation is Dr. Conrad Murray.
According to legal expert Peter T. Haven, that might be difficult to determine. “You have to show that there’s proof beyond a reasonable doubt that he was grossly, criminally negligent, which is more than regular negligence,” Haven explained to MTV News. “You would have to show he did what he did with a strong sense that this was likely to put Jackson at risk.”
Michael Jackson Death Certificate: “Acute Propofol Intoxication” main cause of Death
TMZ has been reporting for weeks that other Jackson docs have been scrutinized by law enforcement and the L.A. County Coroner’s office. Sources say, however, Dr. Murray is the only person in their crosshairs in the homicide investigation. As for the other docs who prescribed to Michael Jackson, they are by no means in the clear. There is an active investigation on several fronts for fraudulent prescription practices as well as prescribing to an addict, according to TMZ.
Michael Jackson’s Death was a Homicide
Dr. Murray, for his part, disclosed to police the number of drugs Jackson was taking leading up to his death including propofol. The drug, also known as Diprivan and is normally used to put patients under for surgery but Jackson was using it as a sleep aid.
