A mugshot of Lisa Mayfield, the stepmother of NASCAR’s Jeremy Mayfield, was released after her August 15, 2009 arrest. Police arrested Mayfield at the home of her stepson and his wife Shana Mayfield. She was charged with public intoxication and trespassing. The police chief said she was “pretty high.” In July of 2009, Lisa testified in court against her stepson, claiming she saw him use methamphetamines.
How could someone who looks so normal and put together do something so crazy? Unfortunately, it is true: Lisa Mayfield was arrested Saturday night and charged with four counts of second degree trespassing and simple assault relating to an incident outside NASCAR’s favorite meth head’s home.
According to an ESPN report:
The arrest was made at the home of Jeremy and Shana Mayfield. According to Shana Mayfield, she and her husband were on their way to Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C., for a dirt track race when they received a call from a couple that lives on their property.
Shana said the couple heard banging on the door and went to the house to investigate. She said by the time she and Jeremy arrived back at the house, Lisa Mayfield was in handcuffs.
At that point, Shana Mayfield claimed that Lisa Mayfield threatened to come back and “kill me.”
Sweet jumpin’ Jesus on a pogo stick, how much more white trash can this sordid tale get? First, Jeremy Mayfield tests positive for meth (multiple times) but denies he uses the drug, next Lisa Mayfield signs an affidavit that purports that she witnessed her stepson using meth over 30 times, Mayfield calls stepmomma a whore, accuses her of killing his father and states he intends to file a wrongful death suit against her, now this?
Of course, according to Catawba chief of police Cecil Cook (his nickname has got to be Bubba), Stepmomma was pretty messed up.
“According to the officers she was pretty high,” Cook said. “The officers took her to jail on public assistance … to make sure she didn’t cause problems to anybody or herself. The Mayfields came up [to the magistrate's office] and took charges out. She was arrested on those charges while in jail.”
Holy crap on a cracker, this is one fucked-up family. The only things missing in this collage of low-bred shenanigans is a trailer, a car up on cinder blocks and someone playing a banjo while wearing a Kid Rock t-shirt.
If John Daly doesn’t write a song about the Mayfields, he’s missing out on a golden opportunity. It’s right in his wheelhouse, man. I would suggest ripping off a Skynyrd riff for that one.
The mugshot is really the best part, though. She resembles how Aileen Wuornos would have been depicted in the film Monster had Kathy Bates gotten the part instead of Charlize Theron.
